The Duo Benda is formed by the sisters Denise and Nancy and conceived as an artistic unity. Its extensive and eclectic repertoire permits to propose outstanding programs and gives to the audience a fascinating concert experience. Born into a family of musicians, chamber music has played and plays a central role in their artistic lives. From their childhood they have performed together, receiving 1st prizes at the Austrian Youth competition for chamber music. Founders and members of various ensembles, they have participated in many international music festivals like La Roque d’Anthéron, Brahms Festival, Styriarte, Blonay, Dubrovnik, Bad Arolsen and Orford. Nancy and Denise received a high level musical education within the family and have pursued their artistic formations following each one their own path. We can find artists like, Paul Badura-Skoda, Rudolf Buchbinder, Murray Perahia, Yehudi Menuhin, Igor Oistrakh, Franco Gulli, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Tibor Varga, Josef Suk, Menahem Pressler, as masters, partners and promoters. In 2006 the two sisters decided to recompose the Duo Benda adding new colours, experiences and emotions. |
